CIFI Donut

CIFI Donut Kindergarten is attachedto a residential community. In order to create a preschool education activity place integrating practicability and beauty, it tries to combine the sales space with the education space. Through the ring structure linking the three-dimensional spaces, the building and landscape are harmoniously integrated, forming an activity place full of fun and educational significance.

Farmers Den

The design reflects the philosophy of honesty and the use of natural materials customized in local yellow stones and natural light depending on the path of the sun is the predominant attribute. The client is a simple farmer and his brief was to develop an office space to further this passion in organic and sustainable agriculture. The architectural layout was a simple grid-based plan and the building was slightly raised on a platform flowing into the surrounding landscape and waterbodies accentuating the overall openness and the sloping roof subtly cue the vernacular design.

888 Boylston Street

Located in the heart of Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood, the design of the Prudential Plaza highlights the wind patterns on site through such innovative elements as seemingly wind-swept, carved granite planters and a grove of forty-four color-changing steel light columns, each capped with a sculptural wind vane that moves with the wind. These “light vanes” transform this urban plaza into a living wind map. Designed in conjunction with the new 888 Boylston Street tower, the plaza has become an epicentre for retail, dining, and civic events in downtown Boston.

Battery

Battery Park is a 12 000 sqm urban park situated at a key entranceway to one of Africa’s most visited tourist destinations, the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa. Developed as the nucleus of a larger urban vision for the district, the site includes a park and piazza that effectively conceal a 1 206-bay parking facility as well as new pedestrian routes to invigorate the precinct with activity. The site is of archaeological importance as it contains the remnants of one of the city’s oldest structures, coastal fortification the Amsterdam Battery.

Convolo

The resort with tropical elegance seems to grow from the emerald mound. CONVOLO is more than a pool but an entirely new sector which coexists peacefully with the natural landscape. It is a vital place connecting with nature, human interaction and sustainable development. The concrete and lawn give the terrace a clean-cut parallel and bring up the concept of separation from CONVOLO. The surround landscape and material perpendicular structure which reflected the gathering in CONVOLO.

Qing

The design challenge of this project is to balance the visual penetration and keep the sense of security at the same time. How to reserve four old Comphor trees in this site is also the issue. The designer tries to hierarchy the boundaries as the design strategy. The 5 concrete walls overlap each other and placed unparalleled by the big trees. They create transitional spaces for wandering and planting between the public field. For people both inside and outside, the walls become the canvas of shadows and light.
